California is famous for its Indian summers – periods of dry, warm weather that occur in late autumn. The rolling hills are bathed in golden light, the leaves on the trees are just about to turn, and there’s a calm stillness in the air. Wanting to capture this feeling, this essence, Julie Cahill Photography teamed up with designer Christine Cater. The duo headed out to Santa Lucia Preserve in Caramel, to a 1920’s Hacienda courtyard — which we think makes the perfect location for a wedding! In keeping with the warm earth tones of early fall, Christine Cater used caramels, creams and chestnut to style the vignettes.

Julie shares We wanted the whole place to look as if it were painted with flowers… Garden roses anchored the ceremony site, along with terra-cotta pots filled with silver dollar. We took cues from the three dresses the bride wore. Even though we were surrounded by all the open space, we created an intimate old world feeling in the Hacienda’s courtyard.

Candles + rose petals set the stage for dress number two: a regal open-back beaded gown by Hayley Paige.

Switching it up once again, the bride donned a chiffon gown by Amsale that caught wind… Wild horses + panoramic view of the hills at sunset made this the dreamiest scene, ever.

WHAT. A. DRESS. From the ruched fabric, to the off-the-shoulder-sleeves, and the darling belt!
